Summer Associates
About the Region
The Bilicki Law Firm offers qualified first- and second-year law students the opportunity to explore various disciplines in a field that is as varied as it is focused. The goals of our Summer Associate Program are twofold: to provide you with the opportunity to perform meaningful work as you consider a career in Intellectual Property law, and to help us to select candidates we believe will be a good fit with our firm and clients.
Summer associates can expect to get hands-on training in preparing and prosecuting patent and trademark applications, litigation support, drafting motions and briefs, and drafting license and other agreements. Also, lawyers are encouraged to take summer associates to client meetings, depositions, and court proceedings. Assignments are structured to ensure that you work on an array of matters and develop a balanced portfolio of work product at the conclusion of the summer.
Evaluation and Feedback
Supervising lawyers review each work assignment and provide you with feedback, so that you have a strong sense of your progress throughout the summer. There is a formal end-of-summer performance review. Lawyers also submit written evaluations of your work product. We maintain an open-door policy throughout the summer and you are encouraged to address special concerns or any questions you may have.
